Knitting Project update : Sorrel pattern

Anyone who has ever tried their hand at knitting knows that it can be frustrating. However, if you’re willing to push through the tough times, there’s nothing quite like the feeling of accomplishment when you complete your project. I recently started a new project – the Sorrel pattern – from Wool & Pine – and I’m here to share my progress and experience thus far.

I chose yarn from two different local stores for this project—Les Tricoteuses du Quartier for the mohair yarn and Laine Péché Mignon for the main variegated color. I love how the mohair adds depth to the color when combined with the variegated yarn; it makes such a difference! As I continue on this project, I am certain that it will become an item that I cherish when completed. Pictures don’t do justice to the Mohair which gives off a bluish halo when in the light.

I decided to give this pattern a go because of its beautiful details and it was the perfect pattern for this yarn. It also seamed doable for someone with any level of knitting experience, so for my second sweater it thought I could give it a try. The great thing about the Sorrel pattern is that it is easy to follow and advances quickly, so I have made good progress on my piece since december. Working diligently in the evenings and over weekends, I’m taking my time to get it done. It’s a labor of love! Here is a picture of the neck design :
